The plow of PLN-4-40 is intended for a plowed land under grain and commercial crops of the soils which aren't littered with stones with a specific resistance up to 0,1 M of Pa (1,0 kg/cm 2 ) on depth to 25 cm. The plow works at all types of soils with humidity of the processed layer to 23%. Height of an eddish or herbage to 25 cm.

The plow of PLN-4-40 is aggregated with the Belarus-1221 tractor, with a width of a track of a tractor of 1800 mm.
